So I have been pestering Melissa for about 2 months now, saying that we should get Daniel’s hair cut. So finally today she decided it was time to get everyone’s hair cut (except hers).
So Daniel went first:
In the chair…

The preparation:

The Cut (shock the mommy)

Just keep that candy coming:

I have her right where I want her:

That was easy!

Gloria was supposed to go first, but bumped her head on something while we were waiting so we thought we would give her a break and let Daniel go first. She didn’t want to go second either though, so Thomas went next:

He, of course, was just fine with having his hair cut, but he did request to keep his sideburns (like Indiana Jones). I didn’t get a picture, but I think his haircut now looks like Spock.
Gloria didn’t want to go after Thomas either so I got my hair cut. Nothing interesting there, except that for having no hair on top, she sure got a lot of hair off of my head somewhere.
And finally Gloria:

Can you smile? (Daniel did!) I recommend click on this picture to see the full size version. That way you can see Daniel smiling in the background:

Oh you were talking to me?:

Look in the mirror:

But the only way this was possible…
She had to sit in daddy’s lap:

Thank you Miss Amanda for being so patient with us:

And just so you know, haircuts cost a lot more than two bits and you don’t even get a shave with it.
A picture of Gloria at bed time, in her “80′s hairband” look:

Here is a picture from my phone: (I couldn’t figure out how to get it to publish more than one picture per post from my phone.)

Gloria has gotten it into her head lately, that she should decide when pictures are to be made. And mostly that means that she has decided that she doesn’t want me to take pictures of her. So when I took this great picture of her wonderful dress:
she was saying “No daddy. No picture.”
And trying to hide…
Daniel had a good time eating tonight. He was yelling at us when he would run out of food. We had some Mexican themed chili for dinner and he was using his cup to smash the beans and then eating the beans off the bottom of the cup.
As you can see, he got quite messy…
It was really funny, because he would scream at us, because he was done eating and therefore done being in the chair, but when I said “smile” he and Thomas both would:

except when they got a little bored with it:

Daniel spent some time destroying the playroom and then:

He took a nap.
So yesterday, I got an email from Southwest Airlines that I thought was rather interesting:

Hello Michael! Your flight on May 1, 2009, is currently scheduled to be on one of our Wi-Fi enabled aircraft!* That’s right…you’ll be able to check e-mail, surf the Internet, and stay connected to the world below via your personal laptop or other Wi-Fi enabled device! (As a reminder, devices that exclusively use a cellular signal won’t work with this service.) Don’t forget to power up at the gate before you board! Southwest is currently testing Wi-Fi on four of our planes. The service will be free of charge during this evaluation period; all that we ask is that you take a few minutes to tell us what you think! Your opinion will help shape the future of this exciting product. A link to a short survey will be available on the Southwest Airlines/Yahoo! Homepage once you log in inflight. Don’t forget that you can check in beginning 24 hours prior to scheduled departure.

And behold, this post is being made from the air!
Will be posted on the blog.
At least, anything that might be interesting.
So far, I got here with a major headache. Probably should have had some coffee before I left and maybe eaten a little something. I did finally eat lunch at 4:30 Birmingham time, which was only 2:30 here. Then I went and registered for the conference, took the “goodie bag” back up to my room, and went and bought a camera. I bought a Canon A590. It is nice and small, and I have a Canon at home that I like. It wasn’t a bad price either.
I am staying at the Venetian, which is a very nice Hotel and Casino. One of the nicest in Vegas as a matter of fact. It should be noted though, that when the lady at the check-in desk says “it is in the more secluded area of the hotel” that is code for “it is a REALLY long walk to get anywhere”. I think that would be the case anyway, but still..
The first year I was here I had a view of the Treasure Bay casino, and they have a pirate show they do a couple of times a day. that was a really nice view. My view this time:

Better luck next year?
I did make it to the Expo this evening. Basically, it is where you walk around and let salesmen (and women) try to sell you software products. It was a little crowded:
I didn’t really talk to anyone yet. Hard to hear with that many people all talking at once…
After the storms came through Sunday night / early Monday morning, we were without power. It seems that more than one tree decided to lay down and stop fighting with the wind.
The power was out from around 3 AM Monday morning, until around 3 PM Tuesday afternoon. The repair crews had a lot of work getting all the poles that broke replaced, as there were about 8 of them in our neighborhood that broke.
Now if Charter will get our cable service back so that we can have internet access at home, that would be wonderful. At that time, Melissa can post the pictures of the destruction…
As evidence that Marge was correct when she said that “She grew up to be a beautiful lady with many talents,” when she was talking about Melissa, I wanted to share some of the reasons that I agree:
Beautiful:

And here is just a small selection of her talents:
She makes beautiful babies:

She feeds our babies:

And does countless other things for us that are her way of showing us her love. She is very smart, very caring, and just fun to be around.
She is perfect, in my not so humble opinion…
