Southwest Airlines

So yesterday, I got an email from Southwest Airlines that I thought was rather interesting:

Southwest Airlines is currently testing WiFi on four planes

Hello Michael!
Your flight on May 1, 2009, is currently scheduled to be on one of our Wi-Fi enabled aircraft!* That’s right…you’ll be able to check e-mail, surf the Internet, and stay connected to the world below via your personal laptop or other Wi-Fi enabled device! (As a reminder, devices that exclusively use a cellular signal won’t work with this service.) Don’t forget to power up at the gate before you board!
Southwest is currently testing Wi-Fi on four of our planes. The service will be free of charge during this evaluation period; all that we ask is that you take a few minutes to tell us what you think! Your opinion will help shape the future of this exciting product. A link to a short survey will be available on the Southwest Airlines/Yahoo! Homepage once you log in inflight.
Don’t forget that you can check in beginning 24 hours prior to scheduled departure.

And behold, this post is being made from the air!

It takes a true man with lots of testosterone to carry a murse!

I need a BREAK not a BREAK

It started Sunday night when Michael pointed out that the AC wasn’t blowing very cold.  We’ve spent all week with the upstairs air off during the day and fans blowing full blast at night.  The repair man, that I just called yesterday, says he might make it out to see us Saturday.  Thankfully, it’s not terribly hot.

Tuesday morning I went to use the hot water dispenser and the water was COLD.  At least it’s not winter.

Thursday while I was attempting to mix up some frosting for Thomas’ birthday cake, one of the beaters quit turning.  “No problem,” I thought.  “I’ll just use one beater.”  That lasted for all of 30 seconds before that one went out.  It’s a good thing there’s a Walmart nearby.

Then today as I was mopping up the floor in preparation for Thomas’ party tomorrow, the mop broke.  It went in stages.  First the mechanism that squeezes out the water messed up.  The rod broke right off.  Not a huge deal.  I just squeezed out the hot dirty water by hand.  (Yuck and ouch.)  Then the end came loose.  So I mopped the best I could with a floppy headed mop until it completely gave up.  No one is allowed to make a mess!

I hope the house is still standing when Michael gets home.  And when he does, I’m running away!  (By myself!)
